Background: Mouse preadipocytes are isolated from adipose tissue. Adipose tissue is mainly composed of a large number of clusters of fat cells, which are separated into lobules by a thin layer of loose connective tissue. The stored fat can be quickly broken down into glycerol and fatty acids when needed, and transported to various tissues for use through the blood. They affect insulin sensitivity, blood pressure levels, endothelial function, fibrinolytic activity and inflammation, and participate in a variety of important pathophysiological processes. Adipose tissue has become an extremely important endocrine system from a pure energy storage organ in the past. Adipose tissue contains two main types of cells in the body: one is mature adipocytes that accumulate lipid droplets in the cytoplasm, and the other is pre-adipocytes that do not accumulate lipid droplets in the cytoplasm but have this potential. Pre-adipocytes are fusiform and have the ability to divide and proliferate. Mature fat cells are round and have lost the ability to divide and proliferate. Since preadipocytes are a type of specialized precursor cells with the ability to proliferate and differentiate into adipocytes, they are closely related to obesity. Pre-adipocytes are fibroblast-like cells that continuously absorb lipids during the evolution process and eventually become mature adipocytes.
