Description: SOX1 (for Sex determining region Y-box 1), located in 13q34, is a transcription factor in the Sox protein family. It means that this intronless gene encodes a member of the SOX (SRY-related HMG-box) family of transcription factors involved in the regulation of embryonic development and in the determination of the cell fate. The encoded protein may act as a transcriptional activator after forming a protein complex with other proteins. In mice, a similar protein regulates the gamma-crystallin genes and is essential for lens development. SOX1 expression is restricted to neuroectodermin the tetrapod embryo. It is expressed particularly in the ventral striatum.
Immunogen: Amino acids QHPGAGGAHPHAHPAHPHPHHPHAHPHNPQPMHR of human SOX1 were used as the immunogen for the SOX1 antibody.
Storage: After reconstitution, the SOX1 antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20 °C. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
