Description: Sorcin is a protein that in humans is encoded by the SRI gene. It is mapped to 7q21.1. This gene encodes a calcium-binding protein with multiple E-F hand domains that relocates from the cytoplasm to the sarcoplasmic reticulum in response to elevated calcium levels. In addition to regulating intracellular calcium homeostasis it also modulates excitation-contraction coupling in the heart. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct proteins. Multiple pseudogenes exist for this gene.

Immunogen: Recombinant human protein (amino acids D121-A161) was used as the immunogen for the Sorcin antibody.

Storage: After reconstitution, the Sorcin antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20 °C. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
