Description: Sodium-coupled monocarboxylate transporter 1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the SLC5A8 gene. SLC5A8 has been shown to transport iodide by a passive mechanism and monocarboxylates and short-chain fatty acids by a sodium-coupled mechanism. In kidney, SLC5A8 functions as a high-affinity sodium-coupled lactate transporter involved in reabsorption of lactate and maintenance of blood lactate levels.
Immunogen: Recombinant human protein (amino acids A313-N598) was used as the immunogen for the SLC5A8 antibody.
Storage: After reconstitution, the SLC5A8 antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20 °C. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
