Description
Sestrin 1, FLAG-tag | 50284 | Gentaur US, UK & Europe Disrtribition
Category: Other Protein/Other Protein
Application: Useful for the study of enzyme kinetics, screening inhibitors, and selectivity profiling
Background: Sestrins are induced by the p53 tumor suppressor protein and play a role in the cellular response to DNA damage and oxidative stress. Sestrin 1 mediates p53 inhibition of cell growth by activating AMP-activated protein kinase, which results in the inhibition of the mTOR protein. Sestrin 1 in important for antioxidant defense because it regenerates overoxidized peroxiredoxins, and the expression of this gene is a potential marker for exposure to radiation.
Description: Human Sestrin1, also known as p53-regulated protein PA26 (GenBank Accession No. NM_014454), full length, a.a. 2-551(end), with N-terminal FLAG-tag, MW=65 kDa, expressed in Sf9 insect cells via a baculovirus expression system.
