Description

SARS-CoV-2 Omicron Subvariants Neutralizing Antibody 5-plex Panel (Flow Cytometry Multiplex Bead Assay) | FCM-N06R| Gentaur Distribution US, UK & Europe

Since December 2019, the emergence of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) and its associated disease, COVID-19, has caused a devastating pandemic worldwide. Omicron is a variant of SARS-CoV-2 first detected in November 2021 and is causing the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The Omicron subvariants BA.1 and BA.2 of SARS-CoV-2 have dominated the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2022. Its recent descendants BA.2.12.1 and BA.4/5 have surged dramatically to become dominant in the United States and South Africa, respectively. BA.2.12.1 and BA.4/BA.5 exhibit comparable ACE2-binding affinities to BA.2. Importantly, BA.2.12.1 and BA.4/BA.5 display stronger neutralization evasion than BA.2 against the plasma from 3-dose vaccination and, most strikingly, from post-vaccination BA.1 infections.
