Background: Rat synovial cells are isolated from synovial tissue. Synovial tissue is a lining structure located on the inner surface of the joint cavity, and various intra-articular diseases can affect the synovium. Synovial cells are an important tissue structure that maintains the normal function of joints, and are also the main lesions in various joint diseases. Osteoarthritis (OA) is characterized by the degeneration of articular cartilage, and its pathological changes involve various components of the joint, but are not limited to cartilage, but also include subchondral bone, synovium, meniscus and ligaments. The pathological changes of each component influence and interact with each other to accelerate joint degeneration. Synovial cells are the largest cell population that constitutes the synovial layer and are an important tissue structure for maintaining the normal function of joints. They are embedded in a granular amorphous matrix with scattered fiber distribution. The synovium is composed of type A (macrophage-like synovial cells), type B (fibroblast-like synovial cells), and type C (dendritic cell-like synovial cells). The main functions of synovial cells: 1. Synovial cells produce lubricating fluid components, and are related to the absorption of the joint cavity and blood/lubricant exchange. 2. Synovial cells proliferate, which does not depend on the growth of supports and secretes a large number of effector molecules to promote inflammation and joint damage. 3. It is a part of the effector in the autocrine and paracrine network. The rat synovial cells produced by our company are prepared by mixed enzymatic digestion method. The total amount of cells is about 5×10^5 cells/vial. The cells are identified by Vimentin immunofluorescence and the purity is more than 90% without HIV- 1. HBV, HCV, mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast and fungi, etc.
