Description: CREB is a transcription factor that is a member of the leucine zipper family of DNA binding proteins. This protein binds as a homodimer to the cAMP-responsive element, (CRE), a sequence present in many viral and cellular promoters. The protein is phosphorylated by several protein kinases, and induces transcription of genes in response to hormonal stimulation of the cAMP pathway.
Immunogen: The amino acids surrounding phosphorylated serine 133 from the human protein were used as the immunogen for the phospho-CREB antibody.
Storage: Aliquot the phospho-CREB antibody and store frozen at -20 °C or colder. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
