Description

NSD2 (catalytic domain), GST-tag | 51026 | Gentaur US, UK & Europe Disrtribition

Category: Methyltransferase/Enzymes

Application: Useful for the study of enzyme kinetics, screening inhibitors, and selectivity profiling

Background: NSD2 is a histone methyltransferase that preferentially methylates Lys27 of histone H3. Isoform RE-IIBP may act as a transcription regulator that binds DNA and suppresses IL5 transcription through HDAC recruitment. Mutations in the gene for NSD2 are linked to Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome (WHS), a malformation syndrome associated with a hemizygous deletion of the distal short arm of chromosome 4, and is also associated with chromosomal translocations in multiple myelomas.

Description: Human NSD2, also known as RE-IIBP, MMSET, and WHSC1 (GenBank Accession No. NM_133330), a.a. 941-1240 (catalytic domain) with N-terminal GST-tag, MW = 62 kDa, expressed in E. coli.
