Description: RNA-binding protein Nova-1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the NOVA1 gene. It is mapped to 14q12. This gene encodes a neuron-specific RNA-binding protein, a member of the Nova family of paraneoplastic disease antigens, that is recognized and inhibited by paraneoplastic antibodies. These antibodies are found in the sera of patients with paraneoplastic opsoclonus-ataxia, breast cancer, and small cell lung cancer. Alternatively spliced transcripts encoding distinct isoforms have been described.
Immunogen: Amino acids T416-V509 from the human protein were used as the immunogen for the NOVA1 antibody.
Storage: After reconstitution, the NOVA1 antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20 °C. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
