Description: Proteolipid protein (PLP) is the major myelin protein of the CNS and plays an important role in the formation and maintenance of myelin. PLP may play a role in the compaction and stabilization of myelin sheaths, as well as in oligodendrocyte development and axonal survival. Mutations in PLP gene can lead to dysmyelinating diseases.
Immunogen: A synthetic peptide from the C terminal region of the human protein was used as the immunogen for the Myelin PLP antibody. The epitope has been mapped to amino acids GRGTKF.
Storage: Store the Myelin PLP antibody at 2-8oC (with azide) or aliquot and store at -20 °C or colder (without azide).
