Media: CM-0382

Organism: Homo sapiens, Human

Application: N/A

Background: The cells express the WNT7B oncogene [PubMed: 8168088].The patient presenting with the tumor was from Paraguay and, although listed as Caucasian, may have had mixed ancestry as suggested by the presence of G6PD type A phenotype in the cells. The line forms flat, spreading plaques of epithelia which exhibit desmosomes, extensive microtubules and microfilaments upon examination with the electron microscope. It is not amenable to trypsinization.

Age: 38 years

Tissue: Mammary gland/breast, derived from metastatic site: pleural effusion

Morphology: Epithelial

Growth Properties: Adherent

Doubling Time: N/A

Biosafty: 1

Medium: Leibovitz's L-15(PM151010)+10μg/ml Insulin+10μg/ml Glutathione+15% FBS+1% P/S(PB180120)

Subculturing: Remove and discard culture medium. Briefly rinse the cell layer with DPBS solution to remove all traces of serum that contains trypsin inhibitor. Add 1.0 to 2.0 mL of Trypsin-EDTA solution to flask and observe cells under an inverted microscope until cell layer is dispersed (usually within 2 to 3 minutes). Cells that are difficult to detach may be placed at 37°C to facilitate dispersal. Add 4.0 to 6.0 mL of complete growth medium and aspirate cells by gently pipetting. Add appropriate aliquots of the cell suspension to new culture vessels.

Ratio: 1:2 to 1:4

Renewal: Every 2 to 3 days
