Description: During apoptosis, toxic or useless cells are broken down for removal. DFF, or DNA fragmentation factor, is a heterodimeric protein which mediates DNA fragmentation and chromatin condensation during apoptosis. DFFB is the active DFF subunit but remains inactive while bound to DFFA, also call ICAD (Inhibitor of caspase-activated DNase). Caspase-3 cleaves ICAD, which then disassociates from DFFB. The disassociation removes the inhibitory effects of ICAD, activating DFFB and beginning the DNA fragmentation process.
Immunogen: A recombinant protein fragment from human ICAD was used as the immunogen for this antibody.
Storage: Aliquot the antibody and store frozen at -20 °C or colder. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
