Description
Human EMAP-II | 90123-B | Gentaur US, UK & Europe Disrtribition
Category: Cytokine
Application: N/A
Background: EMAP-II is activated during apoptosis by cleavage of pro-EMAP through caspase-8 and enhances the recruitment of inflammatory cells by its chemotactic properties. Besides its chemotactic effect on inflammatory cells, EMAP-II increases the adhesiveness of coronary artery smooth muscle cells (CASMC) for monocytes. EMAP-II also has anti-angiogenic properties, which are explained by its pro-apoptotic effect on endothelial cells.
Description: Recombinant EMAP-II is a disulfide-linked monomer protein consisting of 167 amino acid residues, and migrates as an approximately 18 kDa protein under non-reducing and reducing conditions in SDS-PAGE. Optimized DNA sequence encoding Human EMAP-II mature chain was expressed in E. coli.
