Description: Glial fibrillary acidic protein is an intermediate filament protein of 52kDa. Its gene is mapped to human 17q21. GFAP is a useful marker of astroglia in the brain. Mutations in the protein are associated with Alexander disease.
Immunogen: Glial fibrillary acidic protein from pig spinal cord was used as the immunogen for this GFAP antibody.
Storage: After reconstitution, the GFAP antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20 °C. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
