Background: T cells expressing Chimeric Antigen Receptors (CARs) have shown promising results in targeting tumor cells expressing specific antigens. However, CAR-T cell therapy comes with specific risks such as Graft versus Host Disease or cytokine storm. Natural Killer (NK) cells are also cytotoxic to cancer cells and can make a good alternative to CAR-T with reduced risk or side effects. NK-92 cells are a human Interleukin-2 (IL-2)-dependent NK cell line derived from a patient with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. NK-92 cells can be used to generate Chimeric Antigen Receptor-modified Natural Killer cells (CAR-NK).
