Description: Thin filament-associated protein that is implicated in the regulation and modulation of smooth muscle contraction. It is capable of binding to actin, calmodulin, troponin C and tropomyosin. The interaction of calponin with actin inhibits the actomyosin Mg-ATPase activity (By similarity).
Immunogen: A portion of amino acids 10-39 from the human protein was used as the immunogen for the Calponin 1 antibody.
Storage: Aliquot the Calponin 1 antibody and store frozen at -20 °C or colder. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
