Description: This gene encodes 'Betaine--homocysteine S-methyltransferase 1,' a cytosolic enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of betaine and homocysteine to dimethylglycine and methionine, respectively. Defects in this gene could lead to hyperhomocyst(e)inemia, but such a defect has not yet been observed.
Immunogen: A human recombinant partial protein (amino acids E80-Q406) was used as the immunogen for the BHMT antibody.
Storage: After reconstitution, the BHMT antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20 °C. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
