Description: Beta-glucuronidases are members of the glycosidase family of enzymes that catalyze breakdown of complex carbohydrates. This gene encodes a hydrolase that degrades glycosaminoglycans, including heparan sulfate, dermatan sulfate, and chondroitin-4,6-sulfate. The enzyme forms a homotetramer that is localized to the lysosome. Mutations in this gene result in mucopolysaccharidosis type VII. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. There are many pseudogenes of this locus in the human genome.
Immunogen: A mouse recombinant protein (amino acids R122-E575) was used as the immunogen for the Gusb antibody.
Storage: After reconstitution, the Gusb antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20 °C. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
