Description
Bas (PTPN13), GST-tag | 30024 | Gentaur US, UK & Europe Disrtribition
Category: Protein Phosphatase/Non-Receptor
Application: Useful for the study of enzyme kinetics and regulation, to dephosphorylate target substrates and for screening inhibitors.
Background: PTPs are known to be signaling molecules that regulate a variety of cellular processes including cell growth, differentiation, mitotic cycle, and oncogenic transformation. PTPN13 is a large protein that possesses a PTP domain at C-terminus, and multiple noncatalytic domains, which include a domain with similarity to band 4.1 superfamily of cytoskeletal-associated proteins, a region consisting of five PDZ domains, and a leucine zipper motif. PTPN13 binds to a negative regulatory domain in Fas that inhibits Fas-induced apoptosis.
Description: Human, recombinant PTP-Bas, catalytic domain (Gene bank accession number NM_080685), a.a. 2091-2490 (catalytic domain), with N-terminal GST tag, MW=71.8 kDa, expressed in an E. coli expression system.
