Background: 3-aminobenzamide can sensitize cells to radiation in vitro by inhibiting the repair of DNA damage, presumably via PARP inhibition. 3-aminobenzamide is currently in phase 2 clinical trials and has shown positive effects for stroke, myocardial infarction, GI tract inflammation, and diabetic endothelial dysfunction.
Description: 3-aminobenzamide is a novel, potent inhibitor of PARP. Also acts as a mediator of oxidant-induced myocyte dysfunction during reperfusion.
